DuROCK’s EIFS systems, such as InsulROCK, combine robust moisture control, optional non-combustible cores, and customizable finishes—offering durable, code-compliant solutions for demanding commercial and high-rise applications.

System Overview & Performance

  • InsulROCK EIFS
A robust system featuring dual moisture control through a primary WRB and a secondary protective plane, ensuring effective drainage and air-tightness. Designed for use on non-wood substrates, it incorporates Cement Bear, Polar Bear, or Vapour Block as WRB options.
  • InsulROCK NC (Non‑Combustible)
Meets strict building codes by offering a non-combustible assembly, ideal when polystyrene insulation isn’t allowed near property lines or adjacent buildings.
  • PUCCS EIFS
Available for commercial/high-rise, residential/low-rise, and ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) applications. Features a geometrically defined drainage cavity (10 mm deep, 37% open) and CCMC certification compliant with Canadian code standards.
  • CCMC Certification (12969‑R)
DuROCK’s systems are officially evaluated and certified by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre, confirming compliance with National Building Code requirements related to insulation, moisture control, and cladding performance.

Technical Components & Build-Up

Moisture Barriers (WRB)

  • Cement Bear: Fiber-reinforced acrylic-cement coating, trowel-applied, ideal for non-combustible substrates.
  • Polar Bear: Factory-mixed acrylic coating for versatile substrate compatibility.
  • Vapour Block: Elastomeric polymer coating for air/moisture protection.
  • These WRBs can also serve as adhesives or base coats in layered configurations.
  •

Adhesives & Base Coats

  • Options include Prep Coat, Prep Coat D, and Jewel Stone, with variations ranging from polymer-modified pastes to cementitious powder mixes, tailored for different substrate types and application methods.

Insulation Boards

  • DuROCK Insulation Board: Standard flat EPS per CAN/ULC-S701
  • PUCCS Board: EPS with circular drainage grooves (10 mm depth)
Available thicknesses range from 25 mm upward, with maximum limits applied in non-combustible assemblies.
  •

Reinforcing Mesh & Lamina

  • High-quality alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh is embedded in base coats, available in five weight categories—up to 15 oz Impact Mesh for enhanced impact resistance. Coat systems include primer and final finish, customized by aggregate and trowel finish.

Mechanical Fastening System

  • DuROCK’s fasteners feature corrosion-resistant screws with low-profile polypropylene washers to secure insulation boards where needed (especially when WRB is membrane-based).

System Variants & Complementary Solutions

Stucco Plus & Stucco Plus RS

  • A more traditional stucco-style system featuring a fiber-reinforced base coat and polymer finish. Stucco Plus RS adds a rainscreen gap for improved moisture management. Stucco Plus can also be applied directly over masonry without lath when primed.

DEFS (Direct-Applied Exterior Finish System)

  • Designed for ventilated soffits, canopies, or unheated spaces, compatible with steel or wood frames and concrete substrates.

FibreCoat Woodpecker Protection

A unique styrene-acrylic topcoat formulated to resist damage—even with intense simulated woodpecker impact, enhancing longevity in wildlife-prone areas.
